Operations Planner (PNT) Craftsman
Job Description and Requirements:
USfalcon, Inc., recognized as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the United States, is seeking an Operations Planner (PNT) Craftsman to work out of Schreiver AFB, CO.
USfalcon is seeking a Position, Navigation, Timing (PNT) subject matter expert (SME) to support the SPACE FLAG (SF)/Advanced Training (AT) team at Schriever AFB, CO. SF is a mission planning exercise designed to prepare tactical-level space operators to execute operations in a realistic contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment against a thinking and determined adversary. This Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) sponsored exercise focuses exclusively on the space domain, rather providing space services to others.
* Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in Space Operations, Engineering, Operational Research, Strategic Studies or a space-related field.
Eight additional years of experience may be substituted for education requirement.
* Current or previous experience (within the last five years) operating or planning Global Positioning System (GPS) systems in the 2nd Space Operations
Squadron (2 SOPS) or 19 SOPS
* Headquarters staff experience
* Previous experience designing, planning, preparing, executing, and/or evaluating United States Air Force (USAF) space capabilities in Service, Joint
Chiefs of Staff (JCS) or Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises
* Have a solid understanding of Service and Joint space mission areas, BMC2 constructs, and knowledge of current space policy and doctrine
* Final Top Secret/SCI Security clearance
* This position requires limited CONUS travel
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook)- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Space Operations, Engineering, Operational
* Research, Strategic Studies or a space-related field.- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to focus on building customer relationships- Self-motivated, detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills- Possess strong leadership, negotiation, time management, organization, problem solving, risk analysis, and team building skills- Aptitude to gather diverse and sometimes opposing stakeholders to work collaboratively to solve complex problems across multiple agencies internal and external to AFSPC- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritize work, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously without supervision- Proven ability to lead large teams in a collaborative, multi-project environment- Ability to work in stressful and high-pressure situations
* Comprehensive understanding of GPS spacecraft limitations and vulnerabilities; GPS control segment limitations and vulnerabilities; cyber threats to NAVOPS networks and the methods to
mitigate those threats; GPS agency dependencies; and GPS augmentation system; GPS signal characteristics and services, GPS signal acquisition methods, and factors affecting GPS
accuracy; GPS missions support to theater users including systems and weapons reliance on GPS;- USAF Weapons School graduate- Previous command or operations officer experience- Previous assignments in AFSPC's Operations or Requirements Directorate- Three years of exercise planning experience- Space 200 or 300 graduate- Graduate of ASOPS NAVOPS Advanced Course- Current or previous experience (within the last five years) working in the 50 Operations Support Squadron (50 OSS) or 50 Operations Group (50 OG)- Experience with Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) operations supporting the Director, Space Forces (DIRSPACEFOR), in support of the Space Cell, or working in other CAOC divisions- Current or previous experience (within the last five years) working in an operational Space squadron, Space Wing (SW), the National Space Defense Center (NSDC), the 614 AOC/Joint Space
Operations Center (JSpOC), or the Space Security & Defense Program (SSDP)- Experience with specific JSpOC Divisions (e.g., Combat Operations Division (COD), Combat Plans Division (CPD), Strategy Division (SRD), and Unified Space Vault (USV))- Possess working knowledge of tools used for exercise planning such as Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), Joint Master Scenario Events List (JMSEL), Joint Lessons
Learned Information System (JLLIS), Defense Collaboration Services (DCS), Primary Decision Aid System (PDAS), Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES), etc.
* Serves as the Distributed Mission Operations Center - Space (DMOC-S) PNT SME in support of SF exercises and unit-level AT events- Assists GPS POCs with drafting advanced training objectives (TOs) and developing and planning unit involvement in SF exercises- Coordinates GPS support and manning requirements with SF exercise planners- Gathers information, establishes liaisons and coordinates with key internal and external stakeholders and integrates inputs into SF exercises or AT events- Interacts with other contractors to identify synergies between SF exercise objectives and AT lesson plans and academics- Interacts with GPS units on a regular basis (e.g., 50 OG RSP AT Measures (RAMs) development and execution, Crew Readiness Verification (CRV) events,
and SF exercises) to identify opportunities where DMOC-S can integrate modeling and simulation (M&S;) capabilities into AT events- Identifies gaps and shortfalls in M&S; tools needed to provide timely, realistic SF exercise capabilities- Provides assistance to planning conferences, coordination meetings, training events, etc.- Participates as part of the Exercise Control Group (ECG) and White Cell, as required- Captures, analyzes, and reports observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of SF exercises and AT events- Supports hot wash debriefs and After Action Report development after each SF exercise or AT event- Prepares event-related documents (i.e., trip reports, exercise planning/execution products, after-action reports, lessons learned, meeting minutes) within
established time frames- Provides accurate and timely responses to DMOC-S tasks and coordinates responses in accordance with command policies and procedures- Carries out any other tasks that may be required in order to ensure DMOC-S mission success for SF exercise and AT events
